February 22: The Intern
I don’t get around to watching movies anymore, so I took the opportunity to catch up on my recent flight to Vancouver on Air Canada. I wanted to watch something light hearted and saw The Intern on the list. A bit unsure of it, since I’m not a fan of Anne Hathaway, I figured it would at the least be funny, so I gave it a shot. Well, it was funny as one would expect from a comedy, but it was something more, it was touching.
I loved Robert De Niro as a 70-year-old widower who takes up the opportunity as a senior intern for an online fashion website! He is so charming and his approach to life is uplifting. Anne Hathaway is actually not annoying for once and you do to root for her throughout. It’s a feel good family movie, so super low on the scenes that you would otherwise have to excuse yourself from the room for.
