Are you a bookworm? If so, then you MUST check out Pop Sugar’s 2017 Reading Challenge. As a huge book lover, but one who doesn’t get nearly enough time to read, I thought partaking in this challenge would be the perfect push I need to ensure I’m reading…ALL year! So I’ve decided to join and want to invite all of you!  Continue reading “2017 Reading Challenge – Calling all Bookworms”

Daily Recommendation: Homemade Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

August 9: Homemade Oatmeal Raising Cookies

I recently bought two containers of old fashioned Quaker Oats and after attempting for the nth time to make it a breakfast regular, I realized it was useless. I just don’t like the taste of it! On the inside of the cover, there was a recipe for oatmeal raisin cookies (my parents’ favorite). So I thought I would give it a shot. The recipe is super easy and not very time consuming.

Ever find yourself at a card store and wonder why you’re paying $8 for a card that was mass produced, not personal and you know didn’t cost that much to make? Ever pick up a card and think to yourself, “Did I  buy this one last year? Was it for the person I’m buying it for now? Was it for someone else? How do I remember or keep track? Trust me, I know the feeling. I’ve been investing money at Papyrus for years on end and find myself buying the same 12 collection of cards each year. I can’t even keep track of which friend is receiving which card and how embarrassing would it be to give the same card to the same person, twice?!

I will be the first to admit that I wasn’t super excited about the Dancing with the Stars lineup this season, other than for Jodie Sweetin (from Full House and Fuller House). And when I saw watched the first episode, I had no idea who most of them were (and the ones I did know, I didn’t feel any excitement for). But then Nyle DiMarco took stage and everything changed. If you don’t know who he is, you need to watch this first for the backstory and then this for the actual performance, after that you can google him.  Continue reading “Daily Recommendation: Nyle DiMarco on DWTS”

Daily Recommendation: If You Can’t Travel, READ!

April 4: If You Can’t Travel, READ!

I’m an avid traveler and I used to be an avid reader; it’s unfortunately becoming more and more difficult to find time for the latter. But, recently I made a decision to read one book a month. I figured if I can make time for everything else in my life, a few minutes of reading before bed should not be so tasking. With that new goal in mind, I bring you today’s recommendation.

Daily Recommendation: 7 Day Compilation

I am so sorry for the lack of daily recommendation posts over the last two weeks (!!), but I’ve been on travel and super busy which has led to a seriously (and inexcusable) lapse in posts. So, I thought I would do a multi-day recommendation post instead (in an attempt to catch up). And I promise to get back on track, very soon!

So without further ado, here are my 7 day daily recommendations!

Daily Recommendations: TodayTix

March 11: TodayTix

TodayTix is an app that provides last minute (up to 7 days in advance) theater tickets at great discount prices. I’ve used several discount ticket apps and sites before, but none have been as wonderful as TodayTix with service, cost, and ticket options.

Shows, Ticket Prices and Seats

With TodayTix, you pick your show, time and seat preference (Orchestra, Mezzanine, Balcony) but not the actual seats. TodayTix assigns seats based on availabilities in your chosen area/price range. On the day of the show, a TodayTix representative will hand deliver your ticket in front of the venue, 30 minutes prior to the start of the show, which means no waiting in line!

Shows I’ve seen using TodayTix

May 5/6: Swing Time!

FullSizeRender 208This weekend, I spent it with my friend from high school (and my first college roommate) back on the swing sets in front of our freshman dorm at our university. It was a serious walk down memory lane. We used to spend hours swinging, looking at the night sky and discussing life (consisting mainly of the matters of the heart).  Continue reading “Daily Recommendation: Swing Time”

Daily Recommendation: Do Something New Every Month

March 1: Do Something New Every Month

It’s not always easy to do something new every week, but doing something new every month is totally attainable, you just have to be open minded about what “new” thing to try. It can be something as simple as reading a new book (technically not a new activity, but it is a new item you’re indulging in) or dabbing into a new skill (baking, painting, archery) or something completely wacky (trampoline jumping) or something travel oriented (taking a weekend or even day trip to a new destination in your state/city) or something incredibly daring (traveling solo for some and jumping off a plane for others) or something to better your health (yoga, zumba, walking/running your first 5K) or last but certainly not least, volunteering your time (at a soup kitchen, shelter, after school program, etc.) Continue reading “Daily Recommendation: Do Something New Every Month”
