Lush’s T’eo Deodorant Review

I have been trying to move to a natural deodorant for many months. I’ve tried a few products but haven’t fallen in love with any, yet. My main problem with them has been in their lack of ability to keep me dry for a prolonged period of time. So, while I was at the Lush Spa in NYC last week, I bought the T’eo deodorant. I had four products to choose from, two bars and two powders. I find bars to be easier to work with, so I opted to try one of those first. I picked T’eo over Aromaco solely based on their scents. While nothing wrong with the scent of Aromaco, I really liked the soft citrus-y smell of the juniper berry, tea tree and lemongrass essential oils in T’eo. While not overpowering, it really spoke to my senses. It was also a prettier packaging.

I have been using it for 8 straight days and have formed a pretty solid opinion of the product.

Pros

Scent: It’s such a wonderful smelling deodorant. In fact, when I put it on each morning, my room still smells of the lovely citrus scent when I return home some 15+ hours later! No joke. No Exaggeration.

Strength: It lasts great for 9 hours (I know, I timed it).

Cons

Strength: While it’s great for anyone who needs 9 hours or less of lasting power, it’s not great for me. I have 12-15 hour days, I need something that lasts me ALL day. In fact, I’ve noticed that when I go running or do cardio workouts, the deodorant doesn’t hold up to that level of physical activity.

Application: The bar leaves a white residue on your hands during application which means you have to be very careful not to get it on your clothes. I don’t like having to wash my hands after every use, it’s an added nuisance.

Final decision

It’s a good deodorant, but it’s not a great one, at least not for my purpose. I need something that will last me the length of my entire day without reapplication. So for me, the search continues. I think I will give Aromaco a try next.
