Juice Cleanse: BluePrint

I thought it was time to do a juice cleanse, to jumpstart my Low Carb High Fat Diet. A diet that was INCREDIBLY beneficial for me, for all of 30 days I did successfully. I know a lot of people think it’s not a sustainable diet, I mean giving up carbs almost entirely? That’s insane!

They have a point. It is REALLY hard, especially for someone who loves bread, pasta and rice. But, it is not impossible! In fact, I know it’s possible because I did it! And my body felt so good (no bloating, no sluggish feeling, no headache to name a few positives) that I did not care about the fact that carbs were no longer accessible to me. The reason the diet works is because it is HIGH in fat – which is essential for anyone on a low carb diet. So I could eat an array of foods I loved and didn’t have to worry about having oil, butter, avocado, berries, homemade whipped cream (no added sugar), et al. I could eat ALL that good stuff, I just had to watch my carb intake in other stuff. But alas, I digress.

I am not currently on that diet. I had to get off of it when I went rafting down the Colorado River for 8 days (read about part 1 of the adventure here). And since then, I have not been able to get myself back on track! Pathetic, I know. But this post is not about the LCHF diet, it’s about the juice cleanse.

I decided that it was time to get back on the LCHF lifestyle, but since I know it can be difficult the two weeks, I decided that I would start off with a juice cleanse; I’ve never done one before!

I did some research (by research I mean a simple google search and asking friends who had done it before) and settled on BluePrint. After reaching out to their customer service regarding a promotion that was malfunctioning on their website, I waited nearly a week with no response. I almost gave up on them when I received a new promotional email (25% off). I decided to give this a try on the website and voila, it worked!

I ordered a 2-day BluePrint OG Cleanse. I kind of hate beverages; other than water, hot cocoa during the winter season and tea during afternoon tea outings, you really won’t find me ordering drinks. So, naturally, I have been a little apprehensive about downing 16-oz juices five times a day for 48 hours. But I figured where there is a will, there is a way, right?

My juices are scheduled to arrive on Thursday, just in time for a friend’s wedding this weekend, and I am excited to try it! I am looking forward to feeling good, clean and detoxified. I hope this will serve as the catalyst I need to get back on my LCHF diet! I am also hoping to shed some water weight so that I can fit into the dress for the wedding a little bit better. [Haha]

I will report back to you guys next Monday on how the 2-day cleanse went.

Till then, have a great week!
