April 30/May 1: Meet Kate Allen
The most amazing thing happened to me today, I met Kate! I went to Milk+Honey in Austin, Texas to get my hair colored and cut and Kate was my hairstylist. Needless to say, I absolutely LOVE my new balayage LOB with bangs look, but I got so much more than just an amazing hair transformation.
Kate and I spoke in depth about our blogging lives. She’s a beauty columnist at HelloGiggles (did you know it’s cofounded by Zoey Deschanel, who is also a contributor and the Chief Creative Officer?). In addition, Kate runs her own blog which is about the science behind all things hair and the empowerment of women that begins at the head. I learned so much from her about how she began blogging, what she learned, where she is now and where she is headed. It was incredibly inspiring and motivating and I’ve never had that much fun chatting with a hairstylist before!
So, if you’re ever in Austin, go see Kate at Milk+Honey (2nd street district location) for hair care, I promise you will love her! But even if you’re not in Austin, check out her website because you will learn SO much about hair which will enable you to take better care of it and you.
