I am so sorry for the lack of daily recommendation posts over the last two weeks (!!), but I’ve been on travel and super busy which has led to a seriously (and inexcusable) lapse in posts. So, I thought I would do a multi-day recommendation post instead (in an attempt to catch up). And I promise to get back on track, very soon!
So without further ado, here are my 7 day daily recommendations!

May 12/13: Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway
If you’re in the New York City area this year and have an inclination to watch any Broadways Show, make it Fiddler on the Roof! A classic story, that transcends generations and cultures, with phenomenal music that will have you tapping your feet, and ground breaking performances that are, without a doubt, some of the best I’ve seen on Broadway! Don’t believe me? Check out the reviews for yourself! And as a bonus, use TodayTix to score some very affordable deals!
May 14: Rethink Your Instagram Pictures
My Instagram (until a week ago) had over 2600 photos! Because I was using it as a private account for friends and family, I did not pay too much attention to the details of my photos. In fact, I kind of treated Instagram like my Facebook account, which if you are part of the latter, then you know that is an absurd amount of photos! But with the launch of my new business venture, Opinionated Wanderlust, I decided to clean up my Instagram with only my best/favorite shots and make the account public. In doing that, I realized I had tons of photos that I would not upload if I had bothered to take more than 2 seconds to think about it the first time around. So, my advice to you is look back at your Instagram photos, like REALLY look at them, I promise you, you will want to delete at least 1/3 of them!
May 15: Check your Water Pipes
Recently, we found out that 12 cities in New Jersey have lead in their water pipes and although my city was not part of that list, it is in between two of the cities that are. In other words, there’s lead in my water pipe, and by the time they tell us about it, it may very well be too late. So, we’ve switched to bottled spring water, of course. Do some research on the water pipes in and around your town. If you live in an old town/city/house, it’s really worth finding out the details of your water source!
May 16: About Headache-Gone
I have sinus headaches around the clock, but when it gets really bad, no amount of advil/tylenol help. During my recent trip to New Mexico, I visited Gabby’s Handmade Soap and the shopkeeper introduced me to About Headache-Gone. It’s a natural way to get rid of a headache and get relief from nasal congestion. Made with natural corn mint (works to open sinus and allow for easier breathing), mixed with jojoba oil (penetrates the skin almost immediately so the corn mint is absorbed quickly and the relief is instant) with a hint of lavender (for relaxation). I recently used it and was so impressed with how effective it was! Highly recommend it for anyone who suffers from sinus headaches. It can be purchased online at their store for $7.99.
May 17: Call Your Siblings
I love my brothers, unfortunately, they live in two different parts of the world and keeping in touch can often be a game of cat-and-mouse. We keep in touch with via text, Facebook, and WhatsApp, but often I find myself being the one doing all the chasing. I don’t mind, as the eldest, I take it as my responsibility and happily pester them into talking to me regularly. Haha. But nothing is more effective nor important to me than a phone call. So, I make it a point to call them at least once a week, because sibling relationship is super important to me. So, go ahead, pick up the phone in your crazy busy day and call your sibling or parent. You’ll be happy you did…if not now, then definitely in the future.
May 18: What I was Doing While You Were Breeding? by Kristin Newman
A travel memoir written by a 30-something sitcom writer who goes on travels for weeks at a time around the world to discover herself, stumble upon love and ultimately fall in love with the planet. Filled with humor, beautifully scripted travel stories, flawed decisions and inspiring moments, this is a must read for anyone (man or woman) who love to travel, want to find love, but don’t want to give up their freedom. I loved this book so much that I gave it to all my travel obsessed friends for their birthdays one year. A quick and easy read, you can get it on Amazon for less than $11.
May 19/20: Alex and Ani Bracelets
Alex and Ani have a creative and customizable line of charm bracelets that cover everything from birthstone, zodiac sign, names of popular cities (great gift for travelers), collegiate, National Foodball League, symbols of love, wisdom, strength to name a few. They are said to have positive energy and although no big transformation has occurred in my life from wearing them, they have made an excellent addition to my jewelry collection.
Recently, they announced the Big Brother Big Sister collection and I can’t wait to get it for my Little! Check them out on their website ($75 minimum purchase for free shipping). Although Nordstrom does not carry all the collection, they do offer free shipping on all purchases.
And that’s it for now, guys.
Still a week behind, so another 7 days coming at you soon!
Thank you for your patience and of course, support of my site.
